The Grand Théâtre de Genève has announced changes to its 2020-21 season.

The Swiss company announced that its new production of Puccini’s “Turandot” by Daniel Kramer and Team Lab will be postponed to another season. “Turandot”  was scheduled to star Ingela Brimberg, Aleksey Tikhomirov, Teodor Ilincai, Martin Muehle, and Elena Guseva.

As a result, the 2020-21 season will start with “La Cenerentola,” a co-production canceled in May 2020 due to the pandemic. The production will be directed by Laurent Pelly and conducted by Antonino Fogliani.

The cast will include Anna Goryachova in the title role, Edgardo Rocha as Don Ramiro, Simone Del Savio as Dandini, and Carlo Lepore as Don Magnifico. Performances will be held starting Sept. 14 and run through the 26.

The rest of the 2020-21 season will remain unchanged.
