Welsh National Opera Announces 2024-25 Season

The Welsh National Opera has announced its 2024-25 season.

Verdi’s “Rigoletto” is set to be conducted by Pietro Rizzo and directed by Adele Thomas. Leonardo Capalbo, Daniel Luis de Vicente, Soraya Mafi, and Natalia Kutateladze star.

Performance Dates: Sept. 21, 2024-Feb. 22, 2025

Puccini’s “Il Trittico returns to the stage. “Il Tabarro” will star Aluda Todua, Natalya Romaniw, and Andrés Presno while “Suor Angelica” will star Natalya Romaniw and Anne Mason. Finally, “Gianni Schicchi” will include Aluda Todua, Haegee Lee, Anna Mason, and Trystan Llŷr Griffiths. Alexander Joel conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Nov.13, 2024

Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” is set to star Michael Mofidian, Christina Gansch, Giorgio Caoduro, and Harriet Eyley. Kerem Hasan conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 6-June 6, 2025

Britten’s “Peter Grimes” is the final opera of the season with Nicky Spence in the title role, David Kempster, and Sarah Connolly. Tomáš Hanus conducts.

Performance Dates: April 5-June 7, 2025

The company will also perform an “Opera Favourites” concert and “Opera at the Movies.” There will also be a Viennese Tour and National Opera Studio. The Welsh National Opera will also go on tour in the summer under the baton of Tomáš Hanus.
