KARITA MATTILA
Finnish born Karita Mattila rose to fame by winning the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition in 1983. She began her career as a lyric soprano, but now her voice seems capable of anything, from Mozart to Puccini, Verdi, Wagner, Richard Strauss and Janacek.
