Slovak National Theatre’s general manager resigns

Silvia Hroncová resigned from her position as general manager of the Slovak National Theatre and Štefan Bučko did as well from his position as head of the theatre’s drama department, the SITA newswire was told by Bučko himself and by the Culture Ministry spokesman, Jozef Bednár. The reasons for the two resignations were not given.

On Wednesday, August 26, the head of the opera section of SND, Pavol Smolík along with Bučko expressed no confidence in Hroncová. She has held this position since June 2, 2006. Previously she was the head of the Theatre Institute in Bratislava. Bučko led the drama department since September 15, 2008, replacing his colleague, actor Juraj Slezáček. SITA
