The Verbier Festival has announced that is is launching a new fund to provide support for those hit hardest by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The fund intends to help freelance, self-employed and newly unemployed Verbier Festival Academy alumni including solois, chamber and orchestral instrumentalists, singers, conductors, as well as alumni Festival production and technical crew facing lost income during this challenging time.

Those who apply will get assistance of between CHF 1,000 to CHF 5,000 with no expectation of repayment.

The Verbier Festival Emergency Relief Fund is being managed separately from the Verbier Festival Foundation bythe Swiss Philanthropy Foundation. Those who wish to apply can do so by clicking this link.

The Verbier Festival announced on March 26, 2020 that it would be canceling its 27th edition which was set to take place between July 17- August 2. The company has since launched its own online streaming service which features past performances on medici.tv as well as broadcasts of past rehearsals, masterclasses, and concerts, among other events.
