Opera Colorado has announced that it will postpone the opening of its 2020-21 season.

In a press statement the company announced, “in order to safely welcome you back to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, we have taken the bold step of moving our fall, season-opening production of Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell’s ‘The Shining’ to the final two weeks of June 2021.”

As a result, the 2020-21 season now officially opens February 2021 with a production of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana,” and continues in the first weeks of May with Bizet’s “Carmen.”

The season will conclude in June with the highly-anticipated regional premiere of Moravec’s “The Shining” and will be performed June 19, 22, 24, 25, & 27, 2021.

“The Shining” will star Edward Parks, Kelly Kaduce, Arthur Woodley, Vale Rideout, Troy Cook, and Joseph Gaines.
