The Dallas Opera Announces Additional Programming for 2021-22 Season

The Dallas Opera has announced additional programming for its 2021-22 season.

The first event will be the previously announced Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Family Recital by baritone Benjamin Appl, which was postponed from last season. Appl will perform Schubert’s Winterreise with pianist James Baillieu.

Performance Date: Jan. 30, 2022

The second recital of the season will be by Javier Camarena alongside pianist Ángel Rodríguez.

Performance Date: March 26, 2022

The company will also perform “Jack and the Beanstalk” with Claire Choquette, Janine Dworin, Christopher Curcuruto, and Olivia Duncan. The other cast includes Kayla Nanto, Hilary Grace Taylor, Prosper Makhanya, and Jordan Hammons.

Performance Dates: Feb. 6 & April 3, 2022

Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love” will also be performed in a 60-minute adaptation with Avuya Ngcaweni, Will Upham, Tshilidzi Ndou, and Seth-Emmanuel Clarke. The other cast includes Courtney Maina, Christopher Leach, Joseph Canuto Leon, and Dean Willis.

Performance Dates: March 20 & April 9, 2022
