Festival Puccini Announces 2024 Season

The Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago has announced its 2024 season which will celebrate its 70th anniversary.

Pier Luigi Pizzi will be the Artistic Director working with Conductor Jan Latham Koenig.

The 2024 season will see six titles performed from July 12 to August 24, 2024.

The season opens with a double bill of “Le Villi” and “Edgar.” “Le Villi” is set to star Pietro Spagnoli, Lidia Fridman, and Vincenzo Costanzo while “Edgar” will star Vassilii Solodkyy, Luca Dall’Amico, Lidia Fridman, and Ketevan Kemoklidze. Massimo Zanetti conducts the production by Pier Luigi Pizzi.

Performance Dates: July 12 & 19, 2024

The season will also include Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” starring Alessandra Di Giorgio, Nicola Farnesi, and Francesco Pio Galasso. Beatrice Venezi conducts the production by Massimo Gasparon. 

Performance Dates: July 13 & August 2, 2024

The season will continue with the composer’s most popular opera “La bohème.” Carolina Lopez Moreno, Sara Cortolezzis, Ivan Ayon-Rivas, Alessandro Luongo, Gianluca Failla, and Adolfo Corrado star. Michelangelo Mazza leads the production by Massimo Gasparon.

Performance Dates: July 20-August 22, 2024

The fifth work of the season will be “Tosca.” Erika Grimaldi and Valentina Boi star in the title role alongside Alejandro Roy and Erwin Schrott. Daniele Callegari conducts the production by Pier Luigi Pizzi.

Performance Dates: July 26-August 24, 2024

The final work of the season will be “Turandot.” Anna Pirozzi, Andrea Concetti, Amadi Lagha, and Chunxi Hu star in the production by Pier Luigi Pizzi. Renato Palumbo conducts.

Performance Dates: August 3-23, 2024

Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli conducts Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” in a production by Vivien Hewitt. The special event will star Valeria Sepe and Marina Medici in the title role alongside Anna Maria Chiuri, Vincenzo Costanzo, and Sergio Bologna.
