Teatro dell’Opera di Roma Announces New Artistic Director

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has named Pablo Arcà its new Artistic Director.

Superintendent Francesco Giambrone and the board of directors, as well as Music Director Michele Mariotti, announced the news.

Throughout his career, Arcà has worked as Artistic Director of the Teatro alla Scala from 1997 to 2003 as well as with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, and the Teatro Regio e del Festival Verdi di Parma.

He has worked with many of the great Italian and international artists and has also worked as Artistic Director of the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan. He is currently the Artistic Director of the Società del Quartetto di Milano.

As a composer, he won the “France Culture-Musique Contemporaine” in 1982 in Avignon.
