The Other Me
Sally Burgess and Neal Thornton
The Other Me (available on CD - see discography) aptly describes a side
of Sally Burgess' career not familiar to all. Initiated by her first solo jazz album Sally Burgess sings Jazz (on TER), Sally's Other side
encompasses a wealth of music from popular musicals, jazz and cabaret.
Shows include a hugely successful tour of the Life and Work of Richard Rodgers with the orchestra of Opera North, English National Opera and her own jazz quintet (available on the CD Happy Talk), later presented in
Barcelona; Harold Arlen - Who? premiered in London's Barbican Centre; and many other solo jazz and cabaret projects. Sally and husband /band leader/arranger Neal Thornton have devised many similar programmes that have been universally enthusiastically received throughout the UK and Europe.
